Staying Charged in the Spirit
In the world of Gospel music, there is a constant tension between “skill-manship” and the Spirit. It is easy to rely on our talent, but to truly transform lives, we must ensure we are not ministering in the flesh. To be a true Levite, you must stay spiritually charged.
Here are the four pillars of staying “on fire” for the secret place and the stage:
1. Praying Without Ceasing
The scripture is clear: “Men ought always to pray and not faint” (Luke 18:1). We must pray until we are certain the flesh has been silenced. Prayer is not just a preparation for the stage; it is the atmosphere of the minister’s life. We pray until the “self” dies and only Christ is seen.
2. Fixing Your Gaze
To worship effectively, you must fix your gaze on the One you are worshiping ; Hebrews 12: 2. When we focus entirely on His beauty and holiness, we naturally forget about ourselves, our worries, and even the audience. In that place of total focus, the “I” disappears, and the “He” takes over.
3. Activating the Language of the Spirit
Speaking in tongues is a divine shortcut. It connects you to the spiritual realm faster than you can imagine. As we build ourselves up in our most holy faith by praying in the Holy Ghost (Jude 1:20), we bypass the limitations of our human minds and plug directly into the frequency of Heaven.
4. Seeing with the Eyes of Understanding
We must look into the realms of the Spirit. This means opening our “eyes of understanding” to see the glory of God and the movement of the Spirit in the room Ephesians 1 : 18. When you can see what God is doing, you can move with Him, making your ministry prophetic rather than just professional.
